Royal Albert Hall, Grand Tour & Story of the Proms

Join us on a day trip to the Royal Albert Hall where we will be taken on two tours with a lunch break in between. Image © J Collingridge

Opened in 1871, the Royal Albert Hall is one of London’s most iconic buildings, and one of the world’s most beautiful venues. The world’s greatest musicians, dancers, sportsmen and statesmen have appeared on its famous stage. In 2016, more than 1.66 million people enjoyed a live performance at the Hall and millions more through broadcasts and recordings. During the day, the Hall is open for tours, lunch, afternoon tea and family events, with live music events in Verdi on the weekends.

Today starts with a Grand Tour of the Royal Albert Hall. See the stunning auditorium where the world’s stars have performed and the Gallery with its breathtaking views. View the Queen’s private box and visit her private suites, along with other rooms not always viewed by the public. Hear insider stories about the Royal Albert Hall from engaging tour guides – each guide has a different story to tell! Learn about the Hall’s rich history, it’s connection with the Royals, legendary performances and stunning architecture

We then break for a 1-course lunch that is included in the price.

After lunch, we embark on the next tour, Story of The Proms. Learn about the history of classical music, BBC Proms and legendary performances at the Royal Albert Hall and experience the excitement as the Hall prepares for its next BBC Proms performance.
